Ciężkowice is known for Ignacy Paderewski, who was a composer and the Prime Minister of Poland in 1919. This beautiful manor house itself dates back to the 19th century. There is also a beautiful park with a nice pond and you will also find a bust of Paderewski here. Inside there is an interesting museum about Mr. Paderewski. Visiting is possible from Tuesday to Sunday. More information at https://centrumpaderewski.pl/zwiedzanie.html

The Royal Castle in Nowy Sącz is now a picturesque ruin located in a place of exceptional landscape value – on a slope at the mouth of the Kamienica River into the Dunajec River. Built by Casimir the Great in the 14th century, it was once an important administrative and defensive point, visited by kings, including Jadwiga of Anjou and Władysław Jagiełło. Today, you can see the reconstructed Kowalska Tower and fragments of the old walls, and the entire area serves as a city park.

When planning a route around the lake, part of it leads along busy roads. It is worth taking this into account and choosing times with less car traffic.

A tower and a few walls still tower over the Dunajec. The rest of the castle complex is history.
