You wouldn't know it from looking at Lake Murn, but it used to be a brown coal mining area. The flooding of the former brown coal mines was caused by rising groundwater and took about twenty years. Today you can swim, dive and do other water sports in the 90 hectare lake. There are sunbathing lawns, a restaurant, the obligatory mini golf course and a campsite.
