The Mirador de Bascos is still closed in 2026! And it doesn't look like it will ever be reopened. The safety measures seem too extensive and complicated. I strongly advise against trying to climb over the fence. It is extremely dangerous.

If someone told you that this valley was born after half a mountain disappeared into the sea, you probably wouldn't believe them. However, that's exactly what happened. Today, it's hard to imagine. What you see are vineyards, quiet villages, and roads perfect for cycling. But behind this calm lies one of the most impressive geological landscapes in the Canary Islands. Some come for the wine, others for the viewpoints, and others for the sunsets. What almost everyone takes away is the same feeling: being inside a gigantic scar on the island that time has ended up turning into one of its most beautiful places.
