What a tour! The long uphill section is rewarded with extraordinary views. Plus fantastic weather and clear visibility. Descent on roads, but always challenging because of the gravel. The location of the Coccorrocchi campsite couldn't be better. End of the route, lonely pebble beach - a dream!
A beautiful loop, the first stretch on a forest road surrounded by greenery and with many points for stops and water, after the Nuraghe spectacular views, bring your swimsuit because a swim in the wonderful natural pools of Is Piscinas is a must!! 😍
Suitable for: MTB 100%, E-MTB 100%, Gravelbike 50%, Bicycle 0%, Roadbike 0% tested with MTB with Schwalbe Hurricane Hybrid Gravel Tires 29X2.25
A shorter ride is planned for the first day to warm up. After a thunderstorm was forecast for 11 a.m., which ultimately didn't materialize, we didn't hit the road until around midday. After a leisurely start, a long climb begins, with some gravel and gradients of up to 18%. Great views at the top of the mountain. The descent features even more gravel and narrow paths. In between, there's a section with gradients of up to 23%, which is no longer suitable for cycling, so we carefully walk and cycle down. After we reach the bottom, we can also enjoy the magnificent view of the sea. In the late afternoon, we return to the campsite, where we enjoy a cold beer.
Not the entire tour was rideable for us, on some climbs and downhill sections it was safer for us to push the bikes :-)
Very hard tour, from km 6-13.5 you almost only have to push. The path is extremely steep and covered with loose debris. From kilometer 9.7 it starts with a blocked and relatively overgrown single trail, partly through dried-up rivers. From kilometer 13.5 a very nice tour with beautiful views and great curves. At km 19.5-20.2 there is a very nice and fast flowing single trail. A stop at a beach bar was also included. I recommend taking the tour in the opposite direction. Then the tour is more fun, but definitely only ridable in the opposite direction downhill with very good technical driving skills.
