February 5, 2023, OS Recommended: ITV 100 Favourite Walks - Four Falls Walk, Brecon Beacons

Tucked away in the southern slopes of the Fforest Fawr massif, west of Merthyr Tydfil, Waterfall Country is part of the Brecon Beacons National Park. This exciting gorge walk takes in four of the best - the upper and lower Clun-Gwyn, the Pannwr and the Eira falls. Quite a strenuous tour, there are steep steps/paths leading to the waterfalls. Other Komoot tours are for sure-footed runners! 5 pounds for the parking ticket.

Weather good. Nice walk with my wife and the dog Pip.

The last 3 descents to the waterfalls are tough. Good footwear required. The dog can come along on the walk.

Today we continue to Pembrokeshire on the Welsh West Coast. But some movement is part of it and so we set off on the 4 Waterfalls trail. Despite moaning about the cheap seats in the car that the weather is so bad, we throw on a reasonably weatherproof outfit and are lucky, because overall there is little rain on the lap. After the descent to the first waterfall (I'll save the names, they're unpronounceable) we are convinced that this will be a worthwhile hike. Masses of water tumble roaring into the depths. Unfortunately, the path to the second waterfall is closed. So go to the outside and from the other side at least the 3rd. The descent is too slippery for the ladies, they prefer to wait at the top. But they miss a group of men who are - how should I put it - braver than me and more or less fearlessly throw themselves into the depths. Wow. The last waterfall also has something special. You can go under there. So behind the water on the other side.
