We're starting today with a hike from Villareal de San Carlos to Cerro Gimio. Well, we started the day like we have every day since we've been on vacation. With a nice, long breakfast. Let's see what we'll come across during our tour. In Roberto Cabo's nature guide, it says that you can look into the nest of a black vulture from Cerro Gimio. So I was naturally excited to see if I would actually find the nest.
Beautiful walking route to the Cerro Gimio from where you have a very nice view over the Tajo river on the Salto del Gitano. Sometimes a steep climb, but doable with good shoes. The path is well signposted, recommended!
My hiking suggestion in the Monfragüe National Park: I start at the village of Villarreal de San Carlos and take the main path to the Cerro Gimio mountain. The video then continues to the Vulture Rock! https://youtu.be/hQM7vPsbXzA
