Cwmcarn Trailhead Arch

Highlight • Rest Area

Look for the arch to start riding at Cwmcarn, which marks the start of the red-rated Twrch and Cafall trails. Here you'll also find trail maps and information for these two trails, as well as the two downhill trails, Y Mynydd and Pedalhounds, which are higher up the hill.

Pwca Trail Junction

Highlight • Trail

If you'd like to follow the blue-rated Pwca trail, this is the point where it peels off to the right, leaving the red-rated Cafall and Twrch trails. It's well signposted and you have to stop here to go through the stone wall circle, which also leads onto footpaths and a play area.

Pwca Two Tunnels

Highlight • Trail

Swoop through two tunnels under the Y Mynydd downhill track as you take the blue Pwca singletrack. These are well constructed but look out for puddles as they can get a bit mucky!

Pwca Switchbacks

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The downhill section of the blue-rated Pwca trail, this trail links together right hairpin berms with endless rollers and catch berms that'll keep you on your toes.

Great for beginners and more experienced riders alike with the potential to double some of the rollers or jump off the rock slabs that occasionally line the trail. Enjoy the descent that's like one enormous pump track!

Cwmcarn Forest in South Wales consists of two red graded singletrack trails and 2 DH tracks.
Both the singletrack trails contain lots of long technical climbs as well as some long flowy descents. Rocky in places and some incredible views from the top. Both trails are clearly signposted and easy to follow although do check they aren't closed for forestry works before going.

There is also loads of fire roads running throughout the woods which could be incorporated into a ride if the singletracks become too technical.

There is a bike shop, cafe and bike wash, plus pay and display car parking facilities at the bottom where all the trails join up.
