A very interesting circular route from a naturalistic, architectural, historical, and environmental perspective (the remains of the Romanesque Abbey of San Rabano). Unfortunately, along the second half of the route, trail signage and maintenance are virtually nonexistent, but several operators answer the phone at the Maremma Park headquarters: as usual, the staff are over-staffed, but the operational staff is scarce. To visit, we recommend parking at the Alberese cemetery and accessing through the metal gate, which has a lock-release mechanism. Up to the abbey, the route is easily cycled; beyond that, you'll need to walk, unless you descend towards the marina on a dirt road also used as a bridleway, the condition of which I'm not familiar with.
