Clear paths to follow but mind the chalk on the return 2km. No problem with hiking boots. A beautiful NT village with the must see stone circle and Avenue, in addition to the surrounding countryside landscape linking to the Ridgeway. Refreshments at the NT shop or Unhenged in Avebury are well worth it.
A great little walk that starts and finishes at the Red Lion Pub in Avebury. Taking in the famous Stone circle at Avebury the route takes you down the Avenue and up towards the Ridgeway. On the way to the Ridgeway, you pass the Wishing Stone. Following the Ridgeway, you can see part of the top of the valley of stones. I did waste a bit of time looking for a sharpening stone (didn't find it), before heading back down to Avebury.
