A walk along The Loe, also known as Loe Pool. This is the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall. It is between Porthleven and Gunwalloe. It is separated from Mount's Bay by the shingle bank of Loe Bar. Both the Loe (including the southern arm known as Carminowe Creek) and the Loe Bar are on the Penrose estate which is managed by the National Trust. About halfway we were caught by heavy rain showers. We had already had some rain, but now we had to store our camera properly. So no pictures of the second half of the walk. Yes, it sometimes rains in England too. 😉 And this concludes our satisfying holiday in Cornwall.
Circular walk around Cornwall's largest lake right by the sea. It used to be the estuary of the River Cober, but it is not possible to date exactly how long the wall has separated the lake from the Atlantic.
