On this tour, the motto is: lace up your hiking boots properly and off to the mountain! After all, with the Velmerstot route you climb the highest elevation of the Eggegebirge. The mystical Silberbachtal casts a spell over you as a wonderful contrast. A true quality trail!
You start the round in Leopoldstal, where the path first meanders along the Silberbach. On the way you can admire the old grinding mill, which is surprisingly well preserved. Then it's off to the top. Arrived on the Prussian Velmerstot, the wooden Eggeturm offers you a magnificent panorama over the Teutoburg Forest to the Brocken. Only a little later the twin peaks, the Lippische Velmerstot, await you with a beautiful viewing bench. From here it is not far to the starting point.

Today we climbed to Velmerstot – the highest point in the Egge Mountains, with a magnificent view from the Egge Tower. The return journey through the enchanting Silberbach Valley was a real highlight: a babbling brook, wild nature, and plenty of hiking magic ✨.

Unfortunately, you don't see that much beautiful from the Silberbach. Everything broken up by forest workers or peppered with deadwood.
Nevertheless, the sometimes very winding trail was a nice experience.
The view from the tower was great! The photos are arranged in 'first-the-sign, then-the-associated-photo' ...
Unfortunately, I had to turn around at the …
