Impressive gorges and mysterious moors will enchant you on this relaxing circular hike through the romantic Furlbachtal. After all, the Furlbach is said to be one of the most beautiful Senne streams. Convince yourself of it on our six-kilometer tour through the nature reserve.
At the parking areas of Mittweg you can already immerse yourself in the originality of the creek valley. On narrow forest paths you walk past the crystal-clear water that ripples over white-yellow Senna sand. If you take a closer look, you can spot rare species of fish such as the brook lamprey. But the kingfisher also feels at home here in the gorges. With a bit of luck you will see the blue bird darting to its burrow, which is located on the edge of a crevasse near the creek. Again and again the path goes gently up and down, along small ponds and moors, over sand dunes and through dry valleys. Where there was once a dam, the path makes a curve and you hike back to the starting point on the other bank through the unique landscape.

Hike on 08/30/2021 (the second ..) After I was through with the Ems adventure trail https://www.komoot.de/tour/471321837?ref=wtd I wondered what I could do with that afternoon. Good for those who have stocked up on a few brochures on local hikes at the Adventure World. It should be the romantic Furlbachtal, not very far from the first hike. Short drive to the start and off we went into the forest. Well, in the first half the path is quite far from Furlbach and there is not a lot of romance on the slopes, some of which are wide. But then! From the turning point at the former Tütge mill, it gets really wild and romantic and not completely exhausting! The Furlbach is one of the most beautiful Senne brooks. It goes up and down vigorously on root paths, sometimes high above the stream, sometimes almost flowing through the stream. 🅿️ Hiking parking lot Mittelweg We followed the signs for "Romantic Furlbach Valley" with the kingfisher. 🐦 Sturdy footwear is recommended, as it can get quite sandy in places. We highly recommend the Furlbach Valley. It's very diverse, and the paths along the stream are lovely. The Senne region is like a mini Baltic Sea vacation: pine trees, sand, and water. 🥰
