August 23, 2024, Berg- und Taltour von Hersbruck nach Hohenstein und an der Pegnitz entlang zurück

Komoot suggested the tour as a hill and valley. We took back roads to Hohenstein. At the Hohensteiner Hof, there are cream puffs in various variations and they are very tasty. From Ruprechtstegen, the cycle path goes along the Pegnitz. This is the most beautiful part of the tour.

Today we went on another completed "circuit" of the Nuremberg region, Tour 7: "Mountain and valley tour". The starting point for the cycling tour is the Plärrer car park in Hersbruck, but of course you can also start at another point on the route. The tour goes via Altensittenbach into the Sittenbach valley and further to the landmark of the Nuremberg region, the "Hohenstein Castle". The castle sits high up on the rock (634 m above sea level) and can also be visited on Sundays and public holidays. A visit, €2.50 admission, is definitely worth it and if the visibility is good you can see from the castle tower to the Franconian Forest and far into the Upper Palatinate. In Hohenstein you have reached the highest point of the tour and from now on it goes downhill to Rupprechtstegen in the Pegnitz valley. Along the meandering Pegnitz you now enjoy a pleasant ride through the Pegnitz meadows back towards Hohenstadt and then to Hersbruck back to the starting point. The entire tour is "not easy" and after Hohenstein it goes uphill for about 5 km, which is why I think it is something for ambitious cyclists and not really suitable for families with children. For e-cyclists, however, the tour is a real treat in terms of scenery and cuisine. There are a variety of places to stop for a bite to eat, whether it's inns, cafés or ice cream parlors, and you have to decide on a place, even if it's difficult. Great pleasure tour from the Nuremberg region's program, the tour is worth it and is really fun!

A very, very beautiful, but also demanding and very varied tour in the upper Pegnitztal 🤗😊😎👍💪😄. At the beginning it goes comfortably along the Pegnitz to Rupprechtstegen through the beautiful valley, through beautiful villages and again and again with a very worth seeing and unique nature 😀😁👌. From Rupprechtstegen then a very bumpy and sometimes very demanding path to Aspertshofen with steep climbs 🥶😱 and beautiful long descents 😁😊😇, but the landscape leaves nothing to be desired at all 👍💪👌. The last stretch from Aspertshofen runs flat again to the starting point 😊😇😎. All in all, a tour on almost exclusively paved paths, where everyone can get their money's worth - highly recommended 😎😇😊🤟🥰😉👍

Start was today in Altensittenbach. Along the Sittenbach we went up to Hohenstein. Of course we had to eat a wind puff here. 😋 We went down to Rupprechtstegen and from there just enjoyed the wonderful Pegnitztal. 🥰 At Düsselbach a short detour to the stone channel, via Alfalter and Eschenbach we went back towards Hersbruck. Enjoyed a short reward at Michelsberg and then let the wonderful tour end.🍻🙋‍♂️
