The pictures speak for themselves a very nice bike tour
Today's mill tour began with a workout for our arm muscles. 💪😉 9! We visited mills today. I won't name them all. Where there were descriptions, I took photos of them. There were also many other things to see. The entire route, the beautiful little villages with their pretty farms and, above all, the landscape, thrilled us. The mill route sounded interesting and had been on my list for quite some time... So let's get to the first section... Actually the 2nd, since the section from Minden to today's starting point is also part of the route. Varied and interesting tour with some great mills. 👍 The vertical meters probably come from climbing the mills... 😀 Because of the authentic conditions with a backpack.... 😄 On the way, however, asphalted waterways 🤔 and then still getting lost.... Suddenly there is Russia.... 😳🤔😳
Join us on the last stage of the Westphalian Mill Route. The track has deviations from the original route. The pictures are from Bärbel because I filmed them. The tour was undertaken in June 2023. https://youtu.be/vuYdaCNSZkw
...today on the 5th day of vacation we got to know the diverse mills north of Petershagen. From Petershagen we first headed east across the Weser (we had to push over the lock bridge - also up two steep flights of stairs!) and over the lock canal. Then continue north to the state border with Lower Saxony. Then it went west again over the Weser and finally back south to Petershagen. The highlights of this tour were the post mill Neuenknick and the 850 meters away Seelenfelder Königsmühle. Both are in an exposed location on a high plateau about 40 meters above the level of the Weser and have been very well restored. We also really liked the Plaggenmühle (water mill in Döhren). Boards are sawn from tree trunks with the power of water. After the end of the tour we strengthened ourselves in the beer garden of the old train station - great event location. An all-round successful bike tour 👍😃👍
Windmills a passion .. The attempt to hike the area on foot has failed .. Too extensive - for me .. Unfortunately, only a few mills are open a few days a year
