One of the most beautiful mountain hikes in recent years! Except for the elevation gain, there are no difficulties. The trails are wide and well-maintained throughout. The circular route offers a constantly changing and varied landscape. Starting from the urbanized area, you ascend along the Val Duron stream, first through cool woods, then across wide, flower-filled mountain pastures, before rapidly climbing to over 2,500 meters above sea level on scree slopes and crystal-clear rocks at the foot of the Catinaccio Dolomite mountain range, in a very airy landscape, until you reach the Antermoia refuge and Lake. The descent follows the Dona Valley, roughly parallel to the outward journey but much steeper at the end, and reaches the Val di Fassa at Fontanazzo, just below the starting point.
Departure from Capitello di Fassa with a shuttle bus that took me to the Micheluzzi refuge, in Val Duron, saving about 450 meters of altitude difference and I would say rather steep. Cost €10 for one way and in 10 minutes you get there. Then departure towards Lake Antermoia passing through Passo Ciaregole, Passo Dona until arriving at the Antermoia refuge with the lake of the same name behind it. A view that will leave you speechless... Then return through Val di Dona with a stop at the small refuge for an exceptional homemade yogurt, they continue towards Fontanazzo and Capitello. I parked at Col Rodella in the ski facilities that are now closed and you don't even pay for parking
