A great classic of Formazza, in the company of Manuel, Marco and the inexhaustible Leone. We climb up to 3A, passing by Claudio and Bruno, a refuge at 2960 m and from there we descend to Piana dei Camosci among the debris of the former Siedel glacier. We graze the Città di Busto, descending to Alpe Bettelmatt and then to the car in Riale. A beautiful and long hike that I mark as E but only if you have the breath and legs. On the scree of Siedel you need extra concentration.
It took me a lot of effort, but this time I got a lot of stamps from the refuges in the upper Fomazza valley. All of them were excellently made, well looked after both inside and out, managed by capable staff. The lunch stop was 3A, at 2960 m: a tough climb, partially still on a snowfield, but the welcome and setting were truly excellent. Over 8 hours of walking with a difference in altitude of 1200 meters, a nice, challenging tour. https://youtube.com/shorts/5Mts9v8-km0?si=yQnBltLc2pXRxn1Y
Day 2: Hut hike, sometimes very steep but beautiful views. Exciting path over a mountain stream, difficult descent from the 3 A hut
