Forte Bramafam

Highlight • Historical Site

Superb fort of the nineteenth century renovated very well since 1995 thanks to the effort of the volunteers who guard it. It houses a collection of uniforms and military equipment from the era in which it was active, that is, from the late 1800s until 1945, and a collection of heavy weapons from those years.

Climb from Beaulard challenging but not impossible, beautiful views. The descent towards Col des Acles and from there towards Pian del Colle is beautiful, even if it doesn't allow for distractions.
Descent to be avoided if the terrain is affected by loose stones.

For those who are also passionate about night and astronomical photography, here is the story of the last ride of 2015 done by motorbike with the Milky Way at Assietta and a remarkable starry sky at Colle della Mulattiera: lucaghigliano.it/zioghilli/ultimo-ballo-ultima-via

The climb through Beaulard is long and monotonous. The rest of the route is magnificent, with breathtaking scenery, and the descent into the bike park at km 29.6 is a real pleasure to finish!

Nice very scenic ride. Departure from Beaulard, follow to Puy on asphalt, then the dirt road begins which leads first to Colomion where there is a refuge and then to the Mulattiera pass. The descent is beautiful with some slightly technical sections. Return to Bardonecchia and then return to Beaulard

Challenging climb with gradients often around 15% and very uneven ground. Stunning views, both going up, on the Grand Hoche group on one side and on Seguret and Vallonetto on the other, and from the top, on Guglia del Mezzodì, Seur, Grande Ruine and Meije. Flow descent from Colomion to Forte di Bramafam on very smooth and fun dirt.

Showing Translation

Unfortunately the rains of the last few days have compromised several paths.
The one that goes to the tour jaune de Barabbas is not passable by bike (maybe on foot...maybe)🫤
