Nice route, the path in the first 5 km is a bit bumpy, not suitable to do without the right equipment, done at the end of August and still offers cool spots
Veio Park is an ideal destination for trekking and nature lovers, thanks to its well-marked trails that pass through woods, hills and waterways. It offers an interesting mix of natural landscapes and archaeological remains, such as the Portonaccio Sanctuary, which tell the story of the ancient Etruscan civilization. It is a perfect place to get away from the routine, immersing yourself in a quiet and regenerating environment. The waterfalls and streams along the path add charm to the panorama, making the excursion pleasant and varied. An experience recommended for those who love walking and discovering hidden corners of history and nature.
Attention: road closed due to a landslide right at the end.
Simple route with some stretches next to the water. Halfway along the route you can observe the flocks of sheep. Trekking shoes are recommended because the path is slippery. It takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete.
Park at the end of Via Riserva Campetti, after the Isola Farnese cemetery. A section of the ring presents some difficulties due to fallen trees which make it difficult to pass. Partially shaded path, with some ancient ruins, Etruscan remains and the remarkable Sodo bridge excavated by the Etruscans.
