Hiking

Embark on the Panoramas from Monte Bronzone - Ring tour, a moderate hike offering diverse terrain and expansive views of Lake Iseo. You will traverse charming cobblestone streets in villages, shaded woodland paths, and open meadows, encountering sections with steep climbs and well-preserved Sarnico stone steps. This 6.5-mile (10.5 km) route, with an elevation gain of 2327 feet (709 metres), takes about 4 hours and 5 minutes to complete. From the broad, grassy summit, you can enjoy vistas of Monte Isola and surrounding peaks like Monte Guglielmo. A prominent giant blue bench along the way provides a perfect spot for photos and sweeping views across the lake.

This moderate hike requires good fitness and sure-footedness due to its varied surfaces and some steep sections. While the trail is specifically categorized as moderate, some ascent paths can be earthy and scruffy. You might find a potential resting point at Rifugio Gombo Alto, located near the summit. The route can pass through quaint villages like Fonteno, which may serve as a starting point for your adventure.

The primary appeal of this trail lies in its expansive panoramic views, extending to the Colli di San Fermo, the Torbiere, and the Orobic Prealps. At the summit of Monte Bronzone, you will discover a large peace bell, traditionally rung by visitors upon arrival. Another notable feature is the Croce di Predore, an ante-summit offering extensive panoramas of the southern part of Lake Iseo. Portions of the hike may also include the Sentiero Natura del Giardino, a nature trail with signs about local wildlife and plants.

The Croce di Predore is the foresummit of Monte Bronzone. Given the particularly exposed position towards the plain, you can admire a vast panorama of the southern sector of Lake Iseo.

From this peak of the Bergamo Prealps, 1,334 meters high, you can enjoy a splendid panorama of Lake Iseo, Monte Guglielmo, Corna Trentapassi, Punta Almana and Monte Isola.

The summit cross is very particular, as it has a bell dedicated to Pope John XXII attached, which can be rung.

My GPS and Komoot had some problems today too. Ugh. Beautiful climb and splendid panorama, it's a shame that today the forecast didn't give good weather and so it was. To be redone with the sun.

We took advantage of the beautiful clear and absurdly spring day to return to Mt. Bronzone: even if below 1,350m in height, in my opinion simply the best 360° view that can be found on the Bergamo and Brescia Prealps. Alas, even better than "my" Mt. Guglielmo. The area of Croce di Predore is perfect for a picnic enjoying the view of the lower Lake Iseo.

Unfortunately, the path is closed in some places due to private property. The last piece has to be crossed here and there over short exposed pieces that are quite close to the ridge. If you're afraid of heights, maybe too much.
