At the Torre Mileto I fitted the smaller chainring and put on a new chain. The new chain riveter broke in the process. After shortening the chain for the first time, the thread was gone. Unfortunately I hadn't shortened it enough. Finally I put on the chain that was too long and knocked the rivet in. I used the pipe wrench as an anvil with a hole and the side cutter as a hammer. It didn't quite work. The piece that still had to go in broke off and the guide part didn't go in all the way. I still got to Vieste with a few cracks and first drove to a bike repair shop. The mechanic fixed it with working tools without charging me anything in return.
