Monte Vigo and Lago dei Caprioli — Alpine Gravel in Val di Sole

Gravel riding

The starting point for this route is the Dimaro train station, easily accessible by BikeTrain during the summer. Check the train schedule here: https://www.valdisolebikeland.com/it/valdisolebikeland/plan-go/bike-train-bikebus

Start from the station and head towards Val Meledrio. The forest trail is as enchanting as it is steep, but always manageable and never technical. The trees also offer some shade, which is particularly welcome on hot days (there's also a fountain halfway up the hill).

Continuing along the route, countless breathtaking views of small waterfalls, streams, and side valleys unfold before your eyes, until you reach the great panoramic viewpoint of Madonna di Campiglio (there's also a fountain here).

From the panoramic viewpoint, the route continues uphill to the summit of Monte Vigo, from which you can admire the Brenta Dolomites. Those who aren't trained to tackle short, steep climbs may need to push their bike occasionally.

After a steep descent on a dirt road, you reach Lago dei Caprioli. Continuing towards Ossana and its fountain, you finally get back on asphalt for the first time in many kilometers. From here, follow the valley back to the Dimaro train station.
