Hello everyone! Today we cycled our second bike tour from the Hengstforder Mühle. The accommodation and food here are top notch. The area around Apen is very suitable for cycling tours. It is flat, there are views, lots of water, great cycle paths, different vegetation and much more to discover. LG Joe
Starting point: Viehmarktplatz in Apen This circular tour starts in Apen. From here you cycle on completely flat paths through the wide moorland landscape. You will be accompanied by countless water features. You will pass the Aper Tief, cycle along the Nordloher Tief, the Barßeler Tief and the Jümme. You will also accompany the Südgeorgsfehnkanal and Augustfehnkanal for a while. With wonderful impressions of the East Frisian-inspired landscape, you will reach the starting point Apen again, where you can visit the Ham Museum at the end.
We were travelling between Ammerland and East Frisia on part of the water route, along the fen canals and the Barßeler Tief. The flat land makes cycling easy and the well-developed routes add a feel-good factor. Our highlight was the section along the Barßeler Tief. The Fietsknoten invite you to take one or two more tours.
This afternoon Tobias and Carina wanted to try out the new eBiks...they asked if I would come with them...so Tobias chose a nice tour...so we set off towards Klauhörn...then the bike system didn't want to take the tour...so we turned on Komoot, opened the tour and off we went without any problems...it was fun
