Hiking
The nature experience path combines impressive views, mystical forest sections, idyllic river courses and cultural highlights.
The hike offers you cultural highlights in the Nagoldtal as well as very lonely spots in the middle of nature. It's wonderful to endure here - even on warmer days. Sometimes you reach a clearing on your way, sometimes you hike on narrow forest paths and reach splashing water holes - pure nature!
The cultural highlight awaits you shortly before the end - the Monhardter Wasserstube. The historic barrage is a contemporary witness to rafting in the Upper Nagold Valley and an important venue for the rafters' festival, which takes place there every two years - definitely worth a detour!

I was inspired to this tour by Günter L.S., Birgit and Guido R. 🌞 Due to the trendy 🥵 temperatures, this tour was pleasant to go through a lot of shade. It started at 🌞19° and in the end it was only 🌞25° The nature experience path combines impressive views, mystical forest sections, idyllic river courses and cultural highlights between Altensteig and the district of Walddorf. Views of the historic Altensteiger old town, Berneck Castle and the heights of the Swabian Alb are offered on the family-friendly tour as well as the rippling of Nagold and Bömbach. Goats and cows welcome hikers in Monhardt. In between, it goes on small paths and gravel paths through the Altensteiger forest to the Egenhäuser Kapf. The goal was to find as many gravel paths as possible so that you could still walk to some extent despite the heavy rain of the last few days. And then the wanderling just wanted to see something different. And so we ended up in the Black Forest. And we were disappointed. Surprisingly long paths and the forest paths are wonderfully mossy and beautifully situated. Great forests, old trees. Just typical Black Forest. Surprisingly, there are also poor meadows, juniper heath and pine forests. And it was also surprising how tough the round was at the end, also because the wanderer had to squeeze his ass cheeks a lot at the end so that he didn't make it into the night. The Black Forest is beautiful in any case. Especially because of its wetness and the many streams and springs. Idyllic. And just right for rainy days like today. Because after Altensteig there are no longer so wildly romantic but rather practically good paths for the route and ascent. And I don’t want to miss the view of Altensteig. See for yourself:
Beautiful hike through forests that are partly completely untouched. From Altensteig, the route goes partly up stairs and later through a mythical dark forest up to the plateau near Egenhausen. Then back down to the Börbach and along this on a small, quaint path. Then back up to the Egenhäuser Kapf and through the forest past Walddorf back down into the valley. Small flaw: the road noise from the nearby federal highway on the first and last kilometers.
We give this tour 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - highly recommended. Varied and simply beautiful. Of course we also had perfect weather ☀️🎒🥾☀️
