It all started with this tour at the end of October 2020, since I started the tour, I got the wandering fever and am now regularly hiking, first I hiked the Lahn-Dill-Bergland tours little by little, then looked for hikes in the network and also found very beautiful. After some initial difficulties, I think it's working out quite well, my body was probably thinking, what's going on? Have a nice weekend ✌🏼🥾🪵
https://www.wanderinstitut.de/premiumwege/hessen/extratour-gladenbacher-berglandring/ Again a beautiful premium hiking trail. We had changed direction to have the shadier part in the afternoon. Lots of nature, always beautiful views and hardly anyone on the way
In principle, the route is not bad, but it mostly goes along wide forest paths. Highlights are the old Hünstein observation tower - built entirely of wood - with a summit book at the top. Of course we left a little entry! The old quarry and the path through the "Hinterland Switzerland" are also worth seeing. Sometimes the path is not clearly marked at some junctions, but it is still a very "sun-heavy" but beautiful circular tour. Only the traffic noise from some federal highways is a bit annoying. As the female "consort part" is on a "wellness trip" with friends from Friday to Sunday in Haltern am See, (of course she is allowed to do so at this point), Fiete and I only went with "the old man" today! So the "male trio" climbed the Lahn-Dill mountain range today, and then did "wellness" in their own very own way! 😉👍 Definitely tomorrow, if it gets that warm again! See you soon, your Bruno 🐾🐾 https://naturpark.lahn-dill-bergland.de/wandern/extratouren/gladenbacher-berglandring/
This weekend, my search for Hesse's most beautiful circular hiking trails took me into the so-called "hinterland". The extra tour "Gladenbacher Berglandring", which is well signposted and well advertised by the Lahn-Dill-Bergland Nature Park, turned out to be a real tour of discovery. There is always something new to experience here - boredom? Not a chance! Everywhere along the route you will find comfortable benches to sit and lie down, inviting you to take a break and enjoy the wonderful view. It was a bit cloudy that day, but in clear weather the view must be simply breathtaking. The hike begins with the imposing Blankenstein castle ruins, which are a listed building and offer a fascinating insight into the history of the Hessian Landgraves. Just a few meters further on, the path leads along a "so beautiful" path to "Hinterland Switzerland", an unexpectedly appearing rock landscape in the forest that seems almost a little magical. Personally, I am a big fan of such impressive rock formations! 😉 Another highlight of the route is the disused diabase quarry of Rachelshausen. Now recognized as a natural monument, it not only offers a great vantage point, the Kanzelblick, but also a memorial stone that commemorates the victims that the quarry claimed. Here it is worth reading the information boards, which provide interesting information about the history of the place. The hike continues to the Daubhaus, also known as Rachelshäuser Koppe. The summit, 552 meters high, can be reached for a short detour, but unfortunately I didn't make it that day, my fitness didn't cooperate. The observation tower on the Hünstein, which rises to a height of 504 meters, offers another fantastic panoramic view over the Dautphetal and the Upper Lahntal. And that's not all: The ridge near Runzhausen, the field passage near Bellnhausen, the Ludwigshoffnung mine and the edge of the forest at the upper Allnatal provide even more unforgettable views and make the hike a real experience. The extra tour leads through a varied landscape - sometimes through dense forests, sometimes across wide meadows and through charming villages. Each section brings new surprises. Particularly noteworthy are the numerous information boards that not only inform hikers about the geology and history of the region, but also reveal a lot about the local flora and fauna. These informative boards make the hike not only entertaining, but also educational. At the start of the tour, you can park for free directly at the car park at the end of Schlossallee in Gladenbach or along the road. Here, too, there are already some information boards that point out exciting hikes in the region.
Wonderful round with all the trimmings. Start in Gladenbach via Rachelshausen up to the Hünsteinturm Inn Holzhausen. Then a few meters to the old diabase quarry in Rachelshausen. From there again over forest and field. At the end it goes to the Gladenbacher Schweiz with an impressive rocky landscape. Excellent signposted round!
Parking in the parking lot of the ver.di education center (Schlossallee 33) in Gladenbach
https://naturpark.lahn-dill-bergland.de/wandern/extratouren/gladenbacher-berglandring/ I drove home in bright sunshine, when I arrived in Gladenbach it was snowing heavily 😅 Luckily it stopped after the first kilometer and the sun was strong and full. A really very nice round with two tour book places and a lot of prospects. Absolutely fantastic views up to the Dünsberg and much further. Another successful round in my LDB tours collection on a really great day. Happy Saturday everyone 🙋🏻♂️ Collection: https://www.komoot.de/collection/1444264/-ldb-lahn-dill-bergland-extra-touren
Watch Gladenbacher Berglandring (15-20) on Relive! https://www.relive.cc/view/vDqgKW8KeVq The Kneipp pool at the end is unfortunately dry 😢 At the end to the ice cream parlor San Marino to recharge your batteries 🍨
