Hello from the beautiful Salzkammergut! We are staying here for one night to explore two gravel routes. We start (of course) with the famous "Eternal Wall 😍! From Bad Goisern we follow the Traun until we are at the gates of the Weissenbachtal. With moderate gradients we go deeper and deeper into the densely forested valley on forest roads. The fog is so low today that we can't even see the end of the treetops. We reach the Chorinskyklause, park our bikes and walk a few meters to the lookout point. Over millions of years the water has carved large basins into the rocks here, which are still filled by the roaring water today. What a sight! After a quick descent we reach the idyllic village of Lauffen. A slightly steeper climb follows and in the last few meters we have to lift the bikes over a few natural stone steps. But then we reach the highlight of the day: the "Eternal Wall". A path has been blasted through the sloping rock face so that cyclists and hikers can get close enough to touch this impressive cliff face. Views of Lake Hallstatt, Bad Goisern and the Dachstein (when it is not covered in clouds) included. Wow!! The last few kilometers are a wonderful descent straight back to Bad Goisern!
