Trail Reviews

Andrea
July 9, 2024, Gemmi - Gletscherpfad - Lämmerensee - Pendelbahn Daubensee

A fairly demanding tour. There were still snowfields where we were, so very good footwear is a must. The Lämmerenboden is a paradise for children. Small rivers and stones everywhere, very beautiful and practical for "choslen". The northern route (back to Gemmi) can be done via the Lämmerenboden or, if there is more water, along the rocks. The path is well developed, surefootedness is an advantage. To get to the Daubenseebahn, go directly along the river (left bank); we were off-roading, as the path was difficult to find.

If you're in Leukerbad, definitely do this hike. It's a bit more challenging and narrow, but there are ropes and cables along the mountain to hold on to. Definitely take the first cable car and don't let others rush you after that; just keep enjoying yourself.

The path to the Gemmi Pass is spectacular but not difficult because it is well developed. Approx. 2-3 hours! The path to the beautifully situated Lämmerenhütte is a little more difficult at the end, so it is better to do it with good hiking boots! Finally, we took the train down. You can see the beautiful path up!
