Pretty casi walk all in the middle of nature at the end of the walk 210 steps to have pretty thighs
Today I set out to hike the "24 Forests, Weser, Water Eupen" in Belgium. I started in Eupen and headed straight up into the forest. The capital of the German-speaking Community of Belgium boasts historical monuments, beautiful nature, and many baroque buildings dating back to the heyday of the cloth-making industry (17th and 18th centuries). With Belgium's largest reservoir, Eupen is not only well-supplied with drinking water reserves, but also boasts a "beacon" for tourism. On the way to the Eupen Reservoir, not far from the city center, landscapes reminiscent of those from the far north of Canada appear. As soon as you turn your back on Eupen, the forest envelops you in furious autumn colors. The wide hiking trail runs along the Weser River, which feeds Lake Eupen upstream. We pass through three different forests. Beeches, oaks, and firs flank our path one after the other. At the dam, a staircase leads to the "Wesertalsperre Visitor Center," a restaurant with a stunning panorama, making it a good reason to linger and let your gaze wander. The damming of the water has carved many small bays and creeks into the hilly banks of the Hertogenwald Forest. It should also be noted that there is a Weser River in Belgium and Germany. One is the Belgian Weser, which rises in the High Fens and flows into Roetgen. The other is the well-known German Weser, which originates from the Werra and Fulda rivers near Hann. Münden and flows into the North Sea. The area around Eupen is a unique natural landscape. The Hertogenwald Forest, south of Eupen, is considered the gateway to the High Fens Nature Reserve. With its 12,300 hectares, the Hertogenwald is one of the largest enclosed high forest areas in the Ardennes. It also delights families, with activities such as the "Foxy" forest and adventure trail (2.5 km) or the water adventure trail (1 km), both located at the Eupen Weser Dam. Yes, it really is reminiscent of lake landscapes in Canada. We move away from the shore and walk toward a beech forest. Further down, the path is safer and paved with pebbles. We return to Eupen, a city nestled in the midst of precious nature. Thank you very much, dear Elisabeth, for accompanying me on this tour today. It was a beautiful tour that we both enjoyed very much. The weather was perfect, and we really enjoyed the different scents of the forest, as well as the different color changes of the deciduous trees. I chose the music because a kindergarten was going on an outing and they walked along nicely in groups of two, one behind the other.
A pretty nice but unspectacular tour, unfortunately including 2 km of asphalt. But very nice considering the weather, and the nice refreshment stop was fun.

The accumulation of water has created many small bays and ridges in the hilly banks of the Hertogenwald. Yes, you are actually reminded of lake landscapes in Canada. We move away from the bank and head towards a beech forest. A house appears behind a curve, which at the same time seems remote in its isolation. Further down the path is again sure-footed and paved with pebbles. We are returning to Eupen, to a city that is surrounded by valuable nature." +++ 🐻 +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ Directions by car 🚗: "Frankendelle" car park, Frankendelle, 4700 Eupen, Belgium 50°37'21.3"N 6°02'24.4"E +++ 🐻 +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ +++ 👉 Do good on an ongoing basis! #movementhelps Within the “WanderbarHelfen!” team I'm hiking kilometers for a good cause with another 19 Komoot members from January 20th to March 15th. Today we were on the pleasure tour 24 - forests, Weser water. The starting point was Eupen. We parked in the car park next to St. Joseph's Church. From here we walked along a wide hiking trail along the Weser to the dam of the Wesertal reservoir. There we had lunch and enjoyed the beautiful view of the reservoir from the viewing terrace. Later we went back to Eupen on an equally wide hiking trail. Overall, this hike was relatively unspectacular. But to get back into hiking, it was actually just right. The nice weather contributed to the feeling of well-being. Tour template: https://www.ostbelgien.eu/de/fiche/hiking/genusstour-24-eupen
What a delightful tour - just right for a Sunday afternoon... started from a small car park through the forest to the Weser dam. From there on a nice forest path to Eupen. Short break at the Weser Pavilion - with Panda beer and freshly baked cake. Then back to the starting point. Happy tour, happy day 🤩
Today we went on a beautiful, but also somewhat strenuous, hike through the snow-covered forest to the Weser Dam. Part 1 of our contribution to the charity marathon 2024. https://www.los-ostbelgien.be/benefizmarathon/
Parked at the large car park in Frankendelle, the specified one on the side of the road didn't appeal to us. At the start, the forest surrounds you in furious colors. The wide hiking trail runs along the Weser, which feeds Lake Eupen upstream and fir trees. Arrived at the dam there was a visitor center and a restaurant with a panoramic view which we didn't go to. With the wonderful weather it was a nice round only in the green, but apart from the dam there was nothing unusual or interesting to see. The zigzag at the end is the visit to the church. https://youtu.be/t4LVZQQgWI8
