After researching which leisure tours dogs are allowed on last night and somehow not finding anything concrete, although the short leisure tours did say they were suitable for dogs, I decided on two short tours today that definitely don't have to hide! Very beautiful tours, with narrow paths, views, water, and a bit of adventure 😉🥾🌳🐕
On the last day of my short vacation, we did a loop around the Château de Reinhardstein. It was short because it was very humid and warm, and the 6 km felt like yesterday's 15 km 🥵🔆. Making matters worse was that today was the RDHF (Raid Des Hautes Fagnes) – a mountain bike event in the High Fens. Try dodging the constantly whizzing mountain bikers on narrow single trails with two dogs on leashes!!! 🙄 A great place to stop is at the confluence of the Bayhone and Warche rivers. Here, you can splash around in both streams with your water shoes. And dogs who love water will also get their money's worth! 🌊🥳 Reinhardstein Castle didn't impress me that much. Most of the paths there are private or can only be explored as part of a guided tour (adult ticket: €11). But I did treat myself to a delicious ice cream (Magnum Double Choc) for €4 😋😉 Overall, a very nice, highly recommended tour. 👍🏼
While shopping we thought it was actually lovely walking weather. So when we got home we looked for a route on Komoot. We drove there with our ‘mountain goat’ Pebbles. We started the Komoot walk, but we had to walk straight on the main road, so we looked at the walking signs and chose the blue walk. It was a good start with a small narrow path, wonderfully uneven and the abyss right next to it. Would it be another walk like that? 😮 But no, luckily not, there were some steep climbs, many uneven paths, but what a lovely walk it was. It was like a holiday again. 🤩
This tour has been on my list for a while. And it's really beautiful!☺️ 🥰 Luckily we were there early, because the parking spaces on site are limited... and quickly filled. The elevation is right, but it was quite steep in some places. Roots and gravel are an additional challenge!😅

A very beautiful hike, but unfortunately, I can't confirm the easy rating. Surefootedness and sturdy footwear are required on the trail. It would be nice if the rating were reviewed to avoid unpleasant surprises for hikers who rely on the rating.
