Green, greener, Gierather Wald: If you want to quickly get out into the countryside from Cologne, Bergisch Gladbach or Refrath and clear your head on a ten-kilometer tour, then you can immerse yourself in nature right from the edge of town with this hike. From the Sankt Marien cemetery in Bergisch Gladbach, the circular route takes you to three nearby lakes and to the Grube Cox nature reserve, a former quarry that has been converted into a green oasis. A great way to simply take a break.
