Nice hike in the fantastic golden October weather, but ATTENTION very bad progress at one point due to felled trees.
Parked hiking car park Lingerstr Marienheide The tour comes from the Hiking with Pleasure collection A really very appealing tour on varied paths along the dam, through the forest, through small towns, across meadows and fields to the Pagnia coffee roastery in the immediate vicinity of the dam. Here you can sit in a nice atmosphere and enjoy coffee specialties and cakes or Bergische waffles like us enjoy A really successful and appealing tour
https://www.dasbergische.de/tour/zu-hofcafe-und- Kaffeeroesterei-um-die-lingese-talsperre-kulinarische-tour-07 After the Dorn farmstead, the circular route leads over a cow pasture and the forest path that follows is blocked by numerous fallen trees. You can bypass the climbing approx. 300 m before Benninghausen by taking the A9 hiking trail to the left through the forest (-700 m). Or along meadows and fields over the cow pasture, follow the A8 to the right and then the A1 to the left over the Mühlenberg (+ 1.5 km).
Please turn left where I took the picture of Fernsicht. Points 4 and 5 only go through private property, the owner kindly let me pass. So at point Fernblick turn left towards waypoint 6.
It's all there: up/down, left/right, forest/meadow...we were even followed by cows 😅. The route along the dam is designed for warming up and cooling down, and the detour makes it really exciting. For anyone who wants to try something off-road ✊️
In rainy weather or after rain, you definitely need sturdy shoes, as you have to walk down a meadow and across a (managed) cow pasture. There are several places to stop for refreshments: the farm café at the end and the coffee roastery in between, and the campsite by the valley station is also an option.
