A tightrope walk of the highest quality with great views, narrow paths and some challenging passages awaits you on the Maisacher Turmsteig. Of course, there are also great opportunities to stop by.
This beautiful tour begins very close to the Maisacher school. After a short time you will gain altitude and climb the Maisacher ridge, which will reveal wonderful views of the Maisachtal. It keeps going up, but you can sweeten the ascent at a few schnapps fountains along the way. Nevertheless, keep a clear head, because it gets a little steeper up to the highest point.
On the Buchkopfturm you can marvel at the perfect panorama over Oppenau, the Black Forest heights, the Rhine Valley and the Vosges mountains opposite.
On the descent back to Maisach you can enjoy an original Black Forest Vesper and regional specialties in the rustic Renchtalhütte

The path is designated as a premium path. Unfortunately, you get the motto of the day before the first highlight, driveways with short path sections... All in all, despite some great highlights, the path could not really inspire me. The Maisacher ridge, the center of Baden, the refreshment stations, the forest bathing area and the break spots are great. BUT, unfortunately the whole thing is very heavy on forest and roadways. Many of the short path sections are rather difficult to walk due to loose rubble and sometimes massive vegetation. When you arrive at the tower you have already had your fill of the views for the most part. Unfortunately, from the Renchtalhütte it gets very tough, the detour to the Regiomat at the Martinshof gives you extra km, but otherwise not really much. The rest of the descent into the village is not really broken up by the last schnapps fountain, at some point you are happy when you get back to the starting point. You can do it but you don't have to force it
Buchkopf Tower closed!!! The Maisach Tower Trail is a fantastic loop along beautiful, varied paths. Views of the Oppenau side valleys abound, and from the foot of the tower, you can also see Strasbourg and the Vosges Mountains. Tables and benches invite you to enjoy a snack, and loungers offer a short rest after the climb. Further along, the Renchtal Hut awaits you with cool drinks, a hearty meal, or a hearty slice of Black Forest cheesecake! Back down to the parking lot in Maisach, which also has very clean restrooms.
The Maisacher Turmsteig leads over the Maischer Grat. This is a very beautiful section with narrow paths and great views. The Turmsteig continues to take us to the center of Baden. This is followed by the Maisacher Bade Anstalt. A steep path leads us up to the Buchkopf tower. You have a great view from the Buchkopf tower.
Great tour with three Komoot'lers on the highly recommended Maisacher Turmsteig. The hike is very varied with forest and meadow passages, narrow paths and comfortable forest roads. Again and again you have wonderful views, e.g. of the Maisach valley, the Buchkopfturm and the Renchtal. There are many beautifully designed rest areas along the way and the Renchtalhütte as a place to stop for a break. The highlights of the tour for me were the narrow Maisacher Gratweg and the Buchkopfturm (currently closed until further notice) with the surrounding seating and lying options and a magnificent view even without climbing the tower.
Today, with better weather than expected, we went with the SWV to Maisach for the Maisacher Turmsteig trail. Passing Schnapsbrunnen, Breitenberg, and Renchtalhütte, we climbed some steep climbs to the Buchkopfturm (a tower), which has unfortunately been closed since October. After a short break, we descended steep paths, past the 3-Tower Viewpoint, the Maisach swimming pool, beautiful seating areas, and wooden statues, to the center of Baden. In keeping with the town's tradition, we sang the Badener Lied (Baden Song). The descent took us via the Maisacher Ridge. Even though the visibility was limited today, it was a varied and beautiful tour 😊
Dream tour in the middle of Baden to the Buchkopfturm. I also passed the middle of Baden after the Maisacher Grat. Steep climbs, the obligatory schnapps fountains and great views. Highly recommended.
A recommended hike with lots of variety. The public bathing facility in the middle of the forest is fun. Lots of great vantage points with benches and carvings. At the summit there is a fantastic panoramic view from the Buchkopfturm.
OK, that wasn't actually what we had planned. Forecast: 7:00 a.m., a brief light drizzle, then a wonderful mix of sun and clouds. Everything was fine over the Maisacher Grad, but heavy rain up to the Buchkopf. On the tower, there was the promised perfect mix of sun and clouds, but in the form of a bright milk soup with one hundred percent zero visibility instead of breathtaking visibility. Anyway! In the Renchtalhütte, the witch from Dasenstein (among others) comforted me very well. And overall, it was a nice little tour with wet feet.

My wife, who is not at all comfortable with heights, and I ignored all the warnings ("very difficult", "sure-footedness", "acrophobia", etc.) and did the Turmsteig including the Maisacher Grat. My wife kept waiting the whole time for the dreaded section to appear - it never did. It is simply a beautiful
