It is still very warm, so a short walk today. Opposite the church in Bad Griesbach it is indicated that this is where the Panoramawegle begins. First of all there is a climb. This is of course necessary to get a nice panorama. We walk the wrong way and therefore gain some extra altitude meters, but also a bit of extra panorama. To get back on the right path we take a small path, at least according to my map. There is a bench so it must be a path, but we actually just walk through the meadow. We arrive at a very nice little church. Then we walk along the edge of the forest with another panorama and we slowly descend to the road in the valley. We cross this and arrive at a small source. Then we start another climb. We are now looking at Bad Griesbach from the other side and see the church on the other side where we were before, and the ski slope that we also walked past. We go a bit through the forest and descend towards the village. We stop at the Wassertreten to cool our feet. The route runs past a water playground and should actually end at the church. But we already took the path towards the train station and so it was not quite a loop that we walked.
The Panoramawegle, an approximately 4 km long circular route with an altitude difference of around 100 meters, which is certified as a premium walking trail, took us straight uphill to the ski jump after the start. From there we continued to St. Anthony's Chapel and the Pioneer Fountain. We then reached the Magdalenenfelsen along moss-covered stones and rugged rock formations. We then went down to the street and uphill again on the opposite side, where there were once again beautiful views of Bad Griesbach. https://youtu.be/Mcy4RwyMIXk
What a wonderful morning! Taking the train from Oberkirch to Bad Griesbach, I relaxed and enjoyed the views of the Rench River and its beautiful surroundings. Since the circular trail starts in the town center, Komoot didn't navigate me there from the train station, but instead guided me up an extremely steep paved path 🤪. After that, I continued on a dew-drenched grassy path to the actual tour. A varied loop with different types of paths, unfortunately with some gravel sections in between, but overall a beautiful loop with plenty of places to sit. A lively flutter of butterflies surrounded me the entire way. I certainly didn't regret the somewhat longer journey.
A short, scenic route that takes you through beautiful meadows and great forest paths around Bad Griesbach.
Since you never know exactly when it will start raining again, today I went for a little walk to stretch my legs. I chose the Panoramawegle in Bad Griesbach. A beautiful 4km walk with a view at the beginning of the walk. The way home was mostly through the forest over hill and dale... and of course it started to rain 🌧
