70% of old wood-cutting paths lead through the Northern Black Forest National Park with magnificent vantage points at the Oberer Zinken enjoyment area and the Huzenbacher Seeblick. The stop in the log cabin Traube Tonbach offers not only culinary delights but also a cozy ambience.
Please note the opening hours of the log cabin: Current opening times
The gourmet trail starts at the Plauderstüble car park near the Traube Tonbach log cabin, which invites you to stop off at the end of the tour. The start of the tour is a narrow path uphill to the historic ointment oven. Now it's uphill again, past well-preserved old boundary stones. The course of the path becomes flatter and soon you come to the place of pleasure at the Oberen Zinken and the sky lounger there. The fantastic vantage point with a wooden picnic platform invites you to rest and enjoy the silence.
Now the national park area begins. First on wide forest paths, soon again on soft natural forest paths, the path leads through the Kleemisse, a high moor area with very special vegetation. At the Kleemisse location, a short detour to another highlight of the tour is worthwhile, the Huzenbacher Seeblick. The view of the lake lying deep in the Karmulde is spectacular.
The path continues along a beautiful path on the high moor past the imposing Hirschstein, another historic landmark. The hiking trail now leads into a wide gravel path that continues slightly downhill to the refuge on the Überzwercher Berg.
This is followed by the descent on a path to the Flößerhütte in the Tonbachtal, which becomes an experience in its own right thanks to the characteristics of the path. Arrived in the valley, after a few steps you reach the Tonbach and follow the course of the stream down into the valley for a while. First at another ointment oven, then over a bridge with surge from the time of rafting. Shortly before the game reserve, a seating area under the protective branches of an old beech tree directly on the Tonbach invites you to linger - or for a footbath above the cascades.
Past the game reserve, the Tonbachtal now widens into a lovely and widening meadow valley. Soon you can see the first houses of Tonbach again. Now it's one last time on a narrow forest path and meadow path slightly uphill to the Traube Tonbach log cabin on the edge of the forest, which is just before the starting point at the Plauderstüble car park.
Start / finish: Plauderstüble Tonbach car park

I could have slept in this morning, but I wanted to do a short loop in Baiersbronn, the Baiersbronner Himmelswege – Holzmacher Tour, which included a few meters of elevation gain. So, I had a quick breakfast, packed my backpack with water, and set off ☺️.
