After 9 weeks of working non-stop, the time finally came, because I finally have vacation now. The May holidays, to be precise. But before it really started, there was still work to be done. I absolutely did not fancy starting my holiday by sitting at home. As the days are getting longer and it stays wonderfully light in the evenings, Naomi and I decided to go out for a bit. We got in the car and drove towards Kelmis with the casino pond as our goal. The drive there alone already felt like the start of the holiday. There's always such a calm atmosphere at the casino pond. Literally and figuratively recharging, and you can hardly start your holiday any better. The route itself might not have been long, but that's exactly why it was perfect for a Friday evening. Simply being outside together, enjoying the surroundings and the moment. Sometimes it's precisely those small rounds that count. The title: Once upon a time the Eyneburg actually fits perfectly. It felt a bit like a small story in itself, as if you step out of your daily routine for a moment and end up in a different, quieter world. Such an evening that starts simply but is ultimately exactly what you need. Today there's already plenty on the agenda, like scoring new trousers and going to the hairdresser at 14:00. Maybe afterwards we'll head to Epen for a small round. On Sunday we want to go to Stein and next week we have a few more fun surprise routes planned. This was just the beginning and we're already looking forward to what's to come 🌿
After I had my hours on Vera-radio.nl, we put on our new walking shoes. We have to break them in anyway, so last night we had already picked a not so long walk. Pebbles on the leash and in the car on the way to Kelmis.🚙 There I said to Veronique @, we have been here before. It even turned out that we were directed to exactly the same place by the navigation. 🫣 The start of the route was indeed a route that we had walked last year, but we did see that there was a lot of damage due to fallen trees etc. ☹️ After a short while we went off the previously walked route and we still came to new places. And the walk was worth it again. ❤️ After a good 5 km walk we arrived back at the car and we could go home satisfied. And the shoes... fortunately they are very comfortable. 👍
