What a fantastic round trip! First, we drove to Burg Castle. There was nothing going on there yet, and that was a good thing. We then continued on hiking trails along the Wupper River to Leichlingen. Along the way, we admired beautiful half-timbered houses. We continued through the Murbach Valley on gravel paths to the Balkantrasse towards Burscheid. We cycled the last 10km along the route to the starting point. Great gravel tour (not suitable for touring bikes)! A repeat factor 💯%. That was fun 👍✅🚴♀️👌
A short Sunday tour. Via Leichlingen to the Balkantrasse, which I follow to Wermelskirchen. There I take a short break and watch the lively activity around the car show on the Eich. The street cafes are full thanks to the sunny spring. I make my way back via Hünger and Höhrath, through the forest along the Sengbachtalsperre to Glüder, Balkhausen, Rüden and Wipperaue.

Unfortunately, the small bridge over the Murbach in Diepental has been closed since the flood in July 2021. Please simply use the dam of the Diepentalsperre 400m further on to cross (as of February 2025).
