Since the 18th century, Pforzheim has developed into the most important location for the watch and jewelry industry in Germany. A large part of German jewelry is still made in the so-called “Gold City”. If you want to get to know many of the cultural highlights of this special city, then we recommend the Goldstadt Uferweg.
The riverside path connects important buildings and places in the city center over four kilometers. On the way from the Goldschmiedesteig you will get to know the wonderful paths along the Enz and Nagold rivers. From the path you first hike to the left along the Enz, cross the river via the Emiliensteg and follow Jörg-Ratgeb-Straße east to the small city island.
There you get to know the jewelry museum in the Reuchlinghaus, follow the path further over the Wachtelsteg and walk around the Enz-Nagold estuary. This will take you back to the starting point.

“The Goldstadt-Uferweg is a path for everyone! The path leads us barrier-free along the rivers Enz and Nagold past churches, monuments and museums. Information boards on the history of the Pforzheim jewelery and watch industry can be found in the section of the "Goldsmith Mile" and you have the opportunity to visit the Schütt gemstone exhibition, the jewelery museum or the technical museum. Cafés and restaurants invite you to linger and enjoy, or you can relax with a picnic in the city garden or on one of the numerous seating areas along the rivers. The way back along the Nagold leads you to the Auerbrücke with the rafting monument to the former rafting suburb of "Au". "
A wonderful path along the Enz, highly recommended.
