Rundtour durch das Sulzkar – Wandern im Nordschwarzwald

To celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, we hiked to the Grünhütte today. From Lautenhof to Sulzkar, across the Wannenebene and the Schäfferweghütte to the Grünhütte. We had two blueberry wines and a blueberry cake to fortify ourselves. We returned via the Rollwasserweg.

To the left of the entrance to Lautenhof there is a signpost that shows the direction. In the Sulzkar there is pure nature to enjoy, narrow forest paths then forest trails, making the climb a joy. The mossy path is a feast for the eyes. Rest in the Grünhütte. Good, warm, pleasant, affordable home cooking throughout. Down along the Rollwasserbach back to the car park. Sorry for the many pictures, but it was too beautiful. :-)

The outward journey is moderately difficult, the return journey is very easy. Duration without breaks approx. 3 hours

From Lauterhof, a small district of Bad Wildbad, the trail leads steadily uphill along forest paths. Then, a small mountain path branches off to the left into the Sulzkar, a steep mountain and rock formation. See the photo on the information board for a description. The path is narrow in places and runs along the vertical slope of the mountain, so be careful in slippery conditions. Once you reach the top, beautiful forest paths lead to the Grünhütte, which is famous for its blueberry pancakes. Therefore, it's very busy on weekends. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The return route leads comfortably along the Rollwasserbach stream back to the starting point.

Nice hike, the first few kilometers are easy to climb 😉👆, especially on the forest path to the Suzklar formations. At the top it is a little more comfortable to walk and the green hut invites you to take a break. The way back is relaxed along the stream 🙂

Today's hike took us through the Sulzkar. It's the highlight of the route, and thankfully, it was snow-free. The paths above were covered in icy snow, which made it even more challenging. At the Schäferweghütte, I didn't visit the Grünhütte but headed straight back. I was accompanied by the sound of rushing water in a stunning landscape. And I was enveloped by the scent of freshly cut logs. What more could you ask for? The parking lot is a bit small. When you turn right off the main road, you have to drive straight ahead for a short distance.

Wonderful tour for all moss and fern fans 🌱🙂 ...requires a certain level of fitness and surefootedness on the serpentine path through the forest.

Very nice tour, with not that bad weather. There were “mystical” moments in the forest. Blueberry pancakes 🥞 in the Grünhütte are the icing on the cake. 😃🐕
