Hiking
In the very east, directly on the Neckar, and thus already a little outside of the Stromberg-Heuchelberg nature park, this wonderful hike lures with its beautiful vineyards on the Neckar loop and the old Neckar bend near Kirchheim. A must for connoisseurs, because the path offers stunning views, many sunny rest areas for relaxing breaks, apple and pear trees and of course wine, wine, wine.
The small town of Hohenstein (Bönnigheim) with its historic town center and impressive castle is the starting point for this beautiful hike. The wine terraces are quickly reached and you hike around the Neckar loop to the Kirchheimer Wasen and on the shore back to Kirchheim. You enter the city through the Neckartor, the only surviving gate from the medieval fortifications. It is idyllically situated on the Neckar with its historic town center and invites you to take an extensive tour. Then we continue through the vineyards to the next small village. In Hofen, as in most other places, there is still the central wine press, where all the winegrowers used to press their grapes. Along the old Neckar bend you finally reach the starting point again.
You can also easily plan your journey for this tour by train. You simply start and end the hike at the train station in Kirchheim (Neckar). In Kirchheim you will also find a variety of cozy rest stops. Or you decide to take a packed lunch with you, because along the way you will find endless rest areas with a view for a short break and a picnic.
