This easy hike takes you from Hamoir to Comblain-la-Tour and back on either side of the Ourthe without much difficulty or effort. Only on the section through Xhignesse do you have to deal with an increase, the rest of the hike is flat throughout. You enjoy the tranquility by the water and marvel at the rocks that frame the Ourthe valley. The rock of the Jungfrau is a particularly spectacular example and is also popular with climbers.
But first you cross the picturesque Xhignesse. Here you can visit the Romanesque church worth seeing or the nearby chapel. Nearby you will also find the so-called Tombeau Hill. This Merovingian tomb was discovered in the 1960s. In Comblain-la-Tour you cross the Ourthe again and hike back to Hamoir on the other side of the river. You can find refreshment stops in both Hamoir and Comblain-la-Tour, so take your time and enjoy the local specialities.
