Hiking
Three stately buildings await you on this circular route, which brings the history and architecture of the Kohrener Land region to life. Starting from Gnandstein, you'll head toward Rüdigsdorf, where the neoclassical manor house with its well-kept park and publicly accessible orangery invites you to take a short break. The route continues through the village of Kohlen-Sahlis along the babbling Wyhra River to Streitwald, where the stately two-winged Wolftitz Castle stands at the northernmost tip of the route. The building has been undergoing intensive renovation since the early 2000s. For the final kilometers of the route, you'll follow the Wyhra hiking trail back to Gnandstein. Shortly before reaching the starting point, there's a detour to Gnandstein Castle, Saxony's best-preserved Romanesque fortification. The tour can be easily explored in a single day and offers numerous wonderful opportunities for a break in the countryside or to explore the stately parks and buildings.

From the castle we walked to Kohren-Sahlis. The route always led along hiking trails or dirt roads. In Kohren-Sahlis there is a small summer toboggan run with absolutely fair prices. We couldn't get past it without trying it. 👍
