A premium hiking trail without peaks or waterfalls, but with a changing climate. If you have just gotten warm, a cooling wind suddenly blows. It went through colorful blooming meadows, almost mystical forests and past birdhouses in the form of cuckoo clocks. To our great delight, there are also numerous, very different places to sit and lie down along the way with impressive views and many opportunities for creative photos. 🤣
Today we had a wonderful walk in Schönwald in glorious weather. The sections were mainly along forest paths and meadow paths. There are many opportunities along the way to take a break or just to relax and enjoy yourself on countless sun loungers😌😎
We walked this route at 7 degrees, sometimes with clouds, sometimes with patches of fog and also with rain and drizzle. And I can only tell you that this forest is simply mystical and magical at the same time. You feel like the little hobbit in "Lord of the Rings"🤩 Simply a fantastically beautiful tour and, in my opinion, particularly in this weather 👍🥾recommended 😉
https://youtu.be/nOznovJOj0U After we had parked our car in the car park by the church, we continued straight on after a quick look into the church (unfortunately without the "flu") and after a few meters we went up a path. Past a small pond, the tour leads straight to a "sun lounger" with a beautiful view of Schönwald. A few meters further on, a large "lounger swing" invites you to linger, provided it is free. You get to the "Adlerschanze" via beautiful paths, mostly soft due to the pine needles. At least ski jumps of over 90 meters are possible here. The tour continues along beautiful paths, criss-crossing the forest, repeatedly interrupted by views of the Black Forest valleys. Past the Katharinenhöhe, another beautiful path leads first in the direction of Furtwangen. Then you turn back in the direction of Schönwald. A wonderful meadow path with a great view of the valley ahead leads briefly and somewhat steeply back up. After crossing the road and a forest, the path continues along the edge of the forest with another great view of Schönwald. An oversized park bench invites you to linger here, weather permitting. The path leads through a forest, past a water treading pool and the outdoor pool back to the car park. A really beautiful tour that lives up to its name "pleasure trail".
Very beautiful nature trails, many of which are paths, with only small stretches of forest paths in between, which also lead through scenic areas and pass an old ski jump.
Today we went on a wonderful snow hike with Chris. Schönwald is at 1000m and there was enough snow so that at our starting point, the Dobel ski lift, there was already a lot of tobogganing and skiing going on in the morning. Of course I was itching to ski down the slope. But now it was time for our hiking tour and I was really looking forward to it. Without our crampons it would have been difficult on the ascents, descents and icy paths, but we marched quite quickly through the beautiful winter landscape, considering the amount of snow. It was really warm in the sun and so we sat on a bench in the sun with a view of the valley during our break. Chris had a funny saying at the end: we had walked around the church once... That was really true, because we had walked around Schönwald once, so to speak. At the end there was cappuccino and mulled wine at the ski lift (in summer it is the outdoor pool kiosk). A wonderful winter day in good company.
Directions: If you are looking for an idyllic hike without great demands on surefootedness and fitness, you will find it here. In terms of demands, the profile is more like that of a walk. But if that's okay, you can really switch off on the almost 12 km circular route. Most of the paths run on soft, rooty coniferous soil through beautiful forest areas and over or past many open spaces. Spectacular views are in short supply, but you will find a lot of peace and seclusion as well as wonderful views over meadows and fields. Along the way there is a large number of beautiful seats and a number of sky loungers. The only thing that bothers are only the two crossings of the country road ........... with children not quite optimal. Right at the beginning of the trail, you pass the ski jumps, which, in terms of condition, have seen better times. At the end you pass an oversized rest bench on which you can dangle your legs with a beautiful view of Schönwald. Overall, a relaxed round for everyone. Parking spot: Large free parking lot at the ski lift Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Change trains in Radolfzell to Triberg. From the station, take the bus to Schönwald, Bachwinkel stop. From there, it would have been a nice walk, had it not been for the almost entirely muddy, sometimes slippery paths, which somewhat spoiled the overall experience. The weather was cloudy, alternating with a little sun, at 10°C.
