Adventure Cycling Route Auenlandrunde

Cycling

The Auenlandrunde lives up to its name, because on this approximately 120-kilometer tour you will predominantly be cycling on wonderful river cycle paths along the Isar, Vils, and Danube. You will gain great insights into the wild and romantic Bavarian river and floodplain landscapes.

It starts in Deggendorf. From here, you cycle along the Isarradweg, Bockerlbahn-Radweg, Vilstalradweg, and the Donauradweg. You will pass Landau an der Isar, Aufhausen, and Vilshofen before returning to the starting point in Deggendorf.

You can divide the tour into two or three stages, for example. You will find guesthouses for overnight stays in the cities as well as in the smaller towns, such as Aufhausen.

Many more details about this circular tour can be found here on our website.

Isar Cycle Path Near Niederpöring and Pielweichs

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Shortly before Deggendorf you can enjoy the wonderful Isar cycle path again. Along the water, it winds its way parallel to the shore in the direction of Deggendorf, where the river then flows into the Danube in its unique floodplain landscape.

St. Joseph's Chapel (Landau an der Isar)

Highlight • Religious Site

A nice place for a contemplative break. You can sit on the picnic bench in front of it, enjoy the beautiful view of Landau and the Isar and then get back on the bike rested.

If you feel like it, make a detour to Landau: For art historians, the parish church of St. Mary of the Assumption is a treat and the archeology museum "Kastenhof" enjoys an excellent reputation.

Why "Wolf's🐺 Face"?

Wasn't intentionally planned, according to the GPS recording, the strong resemblance only became clear to me afterwards 😁🐺👍.

Yesterday I started my big tour in Vilshofen at 1:50 p.m.

I was actually way too 😴 after work and originally had no desire for activities anymore.
