Hiking
This hike is a must in the Black Forest because it takes you to the highest mountain in Baden-Württemberg. A fantastic view awaits you on the 1,493 meter high summit of the Feldberg. All around you can see in the distance from the Zugspitze over the Allgäu Alps to the Austrian Silvretta, further to the west the striking Säntis in Switzerland and on the French side the Vosges. If the view is really clear, you can even see Mont Blanc.
This Black Forest gourmet trail is beautiful and also offers great views along the way. You start in Feldberg-Ort at the house of nature. There are several parking spaces and a bus stop in the village. Right next door is the valley station of the Feldbergbahn, whose chairlift takes hikers up a large part of the vertical meters to the summit in summer.
Before the highest point of the Feldberg you will pass the Seebuck sub-summit, where you can climb a lookout tower. Then only a few meters separate you from the highest point in Baden-Württemberg, which promises you a wonderful summit experience.
On the descent you will pass several rest stops that make the hiking day perfect. Some of the paths become narrower and lead through a beautiful forest. Shortly before the paradisiacal Feldsee you can make a detour to the 300-year-old Raimartihof with Vesperstube.
The Feldsee is located in a breathtaking environment, because it nestles up to 300 meters high rock faces. The path along its shore is a real pleasure in nature and invites you to take a last break before you reach the starting point again after a final climb.

So: Today at noon we arrived at the parking lot next to the youth hostel because the weather was supposed to be nice by noon. So we started hiking without any problems, but the fog/clouds didn't want to lift yet. Who cares, there is …

The landscape is fantastically beautiful, unfortunately the vistas up to the Zugspitze and Switzerland from the summit of the Feldberg at 1,493m above sea level.
Autumn is certainly the most beautiful season to hike in the Black Forest, these colors ...
Challenging paths, uneven, rooted, stony, slippery, narrow, but a very, very great hiking trail.

I would only recommend it during the week! Even during the week it is very well attended ... So nothing for lone fighters ;-)

Well, we knew that the trip wouldn't be an insider tip, but we hadn't expected so many fellow hikers. There are also hardly any benches to rest on the route, but there are many serviced huts, which are ok sometimes, but …

A good 80% of the route was completely icy, which is why every step had to be taken carefully - especially downhill very demanding 😅 I was accordingly slow with small steps.
