https://youtu.be/P5vJnT8Su-s Hello everyone, Anne and I hiked Roman path number 5 of 6. Since we considered the previous Roman paths to be consistently good, the Jupiter path is unfortunately a little out of line here. First you have to hike quite a long distance through Mosbach...but not through the beautiful city center...the signage in this first section also leaves a lot to be desired. Afterwards you go pretty straight uphill on a wide forest path...ob When you arrive, there is a ray of hope: a beautiful view 🙂 Further along there is a smaller section over a narrow path and towards Neckarburken you finally walk through fields and have a little view again. 👍 In our opinion, the Jupiter Path is the weakest of the Roman paths. Kind regards and have fun hiking. Tobias
Your 7.3 km hiking trail from Mosbach to Neckarburken. You begin this comfortable hike in the historic old town of Mosbach at the museum courtyard and walk through the former state garden show grounds. After a short stretch through a residential area, you reach the Mosbach city forest. The faithful replica of the Leugenstein (a Roman monument) and the Jupiter Bench are two of the attractive sights along the route, which follows well-maintained forest paths. The Jupiter Trail ends at the school center in Elztal-Neckarburken. From there, it's just a short walk to the excavation site of the Roman fort gate and the museum, which you should definitely visit. Points of interest: Leugenstein of Emperor Philip the Arab Excavations: Roman bathhouse and fort gate Old Roman road
Starting point: Mosbach However, we parked the car in Neckarburken and went on a hike to Mosbach. The Jupiterweg begins in the middle of the idyllic city center of Mosbach, which is definitely worth exploring. The first km run through the city and on paved paths. A bit difficult on very hot days as there is little shade. The subsequent route through the forest is super beautiful, quiet and comfortable to walk.
My Jupiter path was taken in the opposite direction from Neckarburken to Mosbach. Better parking and fewer steep climbs. Return journey with DB for €2.40 Info: www.tg-odenwald.de PS: As an active model pilot, a trip to the MOS model airfield was mandatory ;)
So, another Roman path worked off. After the bigger tour on Saturday we went a quiet round. It was a path without any special highlights but with beautiful views. The conclusion in the cafe in the old town was nice. This is how life is fun.♥️
