Altar to Mars and Victoria

Highlight • Historical Site

On the Mars Trail, you'll pass this faithful stone replica of the Altar to Mars and Victoria. The original was found in 1924 and housed in the Walldürn City Museum. How about a detour there after your hike?

Starting from the hiking car park in Glashofen-Neusaß, follow the "R" markings in a southerly direction.

The easily walkable comfort tour first leads past the impressive Neusaß solar field. Electricity for 1000 households is produced here.

If you continue to follow the path, you will pass a shelter and the true-to-the-original stone replica of the altar for
Mars and Victoria.

Unfortunately there was no stamp in the stamp box 😵‍💫 ... but overall a pretty relaxed tour and a nice Sunday stroll 🌞🌞

Mars, the god of war, was very peaceful today and even let the sun shine. It was a nice, relaxing day, which we really enjoyed. With us uff de Höh, it's nice.❤️🍀❤️

In the rainy weather, the joy of hiking was limited. So I did the shortest Roman path and got the 2nd stamp for the Roman pass.

The third Roman path in a row. Interesting encounters with the initiator and builder of the St. MARIEN forest chapel, Mr. HENNIG, who, together with two colleagues and helpers, built the chapel opposite the starting point of the Mars Path. It was consecrated ecumenically on September 11, 2023. In the donor picture in the chapel, MARIA symbolically protects the builders …

Starting point: car park near Neusaß (opposite the St. Maria forest chapel)

Very nice, comfortable Roman path that should be doable for everyone. If you are nearby, you shouldn't miss it. We are a little undecided as to whether it is worth driving there...
