Unfortunately, the recording froze at 7.11 km on the Bubenrath. The break on the beautiful panoramic lounger was probably too long😅. I then edited and uploaded the tour afterwards. That's why the pictures are not in the right order. The Hercules Trail tour is a nice, varied route, especially when it's green 🌿 and blooming🌼🌷.

The Hercules Trail is a 14 km long circular trail near Buchen. A very varied tour (geological, historical and scenic highlights). Not easy in terms of fitness as it is constantly up and down. We really enjoyed it.

The first Sunday off after three weeks 🤩. Great, I actually felt like putting my feet up, feeling whether the hollow in the couch still fits and watching the flowers grow. Cautious approach of my husband of gods.... the weather should hold, we haven't been out together for a long time and you probably still have ideas to discover 🤔.... The Hercules path is one of the Roman paths in our vicinity, already heard about it but never explored. So let's have fun. Great start with a forest path and at the end of the tour, if you continued to follow the R 🙈 a final path. In between there is a lot of open field, up and down, country lanes, some watchtowers, views, some asphalt and through a small village. If you like it 😉 it wasn't the big Hercules task, but it was quite nice 🤗

In this wonderful spring weather, you have to get out. We would have happily given this hike more than the possible 5 stars. Most of the hike took us through the countryside on beautiful forest and meadow paths. The constant alternation between short climbs and "absent-minded gliding" was pure enjoyment. The limited seating was more than compensated for at the chapel above Rinschheim. A wonderful spot with plenty of benches to sit and lie on, with a sweeping view of the valley. At the end of the tour, we admired a wildlife enclosure. Outside the enclosure, we had two bags of carrots; the animals were very pleased with our feeding. Right next to the enclosure, there is a stamping station for the "path pass." The stamp was also OK, and the stamp passes are also available. Further information is available at www.roemerpfade.de. All in all, a very successful hike that we wholeheartedly recommend.

https://youtu.be/OcbfmP-8iEI Hello everyone 🙂 On Sunday I hiked the 4th of the 6 Roman paths with Anne: The Hercules Path 💪 Located near Buchen, it is around 14 km long and is the longest of the Roman paths. Varied routing over paths and wide paths (although the latter seem to be in the majority), the path scores particularly well with its many highlights. A beautifully made starting point, remains of a Roman fort and Roman watchtowers, beautiful, wide views, small chapels along the way, sinkholes and and and....🥰 The whole thing combined with great weather and the beautiful hiking day was almost perfect😍 The only problem: Since we started late, as time went on we were visited by legions of ancient Roman bloodsuckers (gnats), so we sprinted the last 2km to the hiking car park 🤣 Overall, if you start early and don't dawdle as much as we did, it was a really nice hike. Signage was also great, we only passed the junction once because of all the chatter 😂 Kind regards and have fun hiking everyone 🙂 Tobias

Hercules was a Greek hero who became famous for his twelve labors and was admitted to Olympus because of his strength. According to legend, he was the illegitimate son of Jupiter (Zeus), the father of the gods. Starting from the Forsthaus Hettingen, always follow the “R” marking. The path initially leads downhill through the forest to the sinkhole path. On the sinkhole path you have the opportunity to look at the sinkholes in the forest in the form of a small circular path. Then continue to follow the markings south through the forest. The path leads a short distance past fields and then to the Hegenichdoline. Then it goes uphill to the chapel on the Way of the Cross in Hettingen. Follow the Way of the Cross for a short distance, but turn sharp left at the edge of the forest and immediately right again. The circular route leads across meadows and fields to the chapel at Bubenrath via Rinschheim. We continue downhill and through the village of Rinschheim. At the other end of the town it goes steeply uphill again up to the Lausenberg with its replica palisade and a nice place to rest. The Hercules Trail continues through fields and meadows to the game reserve at the edge of the forest. The stone monument and the Jupiter bench can be seen there. The last section of the path to the starting point leads along the calcite stone, two Roman watchtower remains and the Hönehaus small fort. Source: TG Odenwald
