Theme trail to "terroir f" through the Ötteltal – discover the Rhön

Beautiful and varied round tour with many highlights such as the museum vineyard, the mysterious figures and the magical place of Franconian wine, the beautiful vantage point "terroir f".

The start of this varied hike is the Hammelburg market square. The path leads through the center of Hammelburg via Kissinger Straße to the roundabout with the artificial figures. It continues through Rote-Kreuz-Strasse, Ofenthaler Weg, Eschenthalstrasse and Königsberger Strasse. Finally turn left into Karlsbader Strasse until you reach Am Rod. Turn left at house no. 19 and follow the "Main Muschelkalk" hiking trail in the direction of Westheim. It goes past historic vineyard walls, flower and herb meadows, fruit trees and the museum vineyard. On the way there are fantastic views over the Saale valley. Cross the field near Westheim and follow the signs "terroir f" to the Ötteltal nature reserve. The quiet valley is known for its abundance of orchids. Climbing uphill at the end of the valley you come to the mysterious figures on the Hammelberg and then to the terroir f vantage point. Then it goes z. B. via the Ofenthaler Weg or the Europapavillon (cf. Rhönrundweg No. 9) back down into the city and back to the starting point.
