Because it should stay dry today, we planned this tour. We started at the Schwarzes Moor parking lot, which can also be used as a start in Fladungen. Really nice tour. Some information boards about the German border are on the tour, very informative ... the path is great. Many wonderful flowers can be admired, especially the beautiful large field of flowers with wildflowers 🌷🌸🌺🌻🌹🎋, which we saw shortly before Rüdenschwingen.
A beautiful and eventful tour. The elevation gain towards Heimatblick was exhausting for me. But after that it worked and the remaining elevation gain was no longer a problem. Negative: While I was writing this text here at the museum station, a couple drove past the parking lot, threw out their rubbish and drove away. Impossible. With an advertisement for a car dealership on the car.
Today I did the museum tour in the Rhön with Komoot Patrick 😉. In the most wonderful hiking weather we went from the car park at the Franconian open-air museum in Fladungen towards the Black Moor. Across the border triangle of Bavaria, Thuringia and Hesse to Frankenheim, the highest place in the Rhön. Wonderful views rewarded this day It was beautiful🤗
🥾 Boundlessly beautiful – Frankenheim Loop Extra Tour A very beautiful extra tour that impressively connects the Thuringian and Bavarian Rhön Mountains. 🌲🌳 The starting point is Frankenheim, from there the trail leads over the Schwarze Moor, further to Grabenberg, through Rüdenschwinden and Fladungen, past the Heimatblick, and back to the starting point. A Rhön loop tour that's truly worth it: diverse landscapes, quiet paths, and stunning views included. So, as always: Start, slow down, and enjoy. 😇
We start at the hiking car park next to the Franconian open-air museum in Fladungen. Along the way stretches a smallholder cultural landscape with meadow orchards. Uphill it goes past Oberfladungen, the Huflar manor and the Salkenberg with a view of the homeland. Not far from the highest point of the tour - in the Bavaria-Thuringia border area - we discover a former border tower and a piece of border fence. The museum border reminds all visitors of the regional, national and international history of the German-German division. The Black Moor is also reached shortly afterwards. After our round through the mysterious moor landscape, the extra tour continues in the direction of the Berggasthof-Hotel Sennhütte, which is about 5 minutes away from the hiking trail. Well supplied with Rhön specialties, we continue hiking. The extra tour leads back to the starting point via the charming Rhön community of Rüdenschwaben, the Gangolf chapel and the parish church of St. Kilian with its impressive rococo furnishings. ©️ Catherine Happel
Before he dives back into the depths of Middle Franconia 😄, we actually did another tour together. The extra tour museum tour was on today. @ML Planned it slightly differently and I was glad I didn't have to worry about anything ☺️, just follow 😄. Started at 8 a.m. at the museum village in Fladungen. Up to the Sennhütte, coming from FD, the weather was actually promising ☀️. From there fog 😳 at least at 20 degrees. 💦 was only announced from 9:30 a.m. 🙃. During the last steep ascent 🥵 up to the plateau, we kept hearing the rumble of thunder... Arrived at the top, hut already in sight, the storm 🌬️, the rain 💦 and the thunderstorm ⛈️⚡️ really started. Reason for a break until it's over. It was a really "feudal" hut 😄! Equipped with an oven, benches and tables and a place to sleep on the upper floor 🪜. The mattress must have been burned at the last campfire 🔥, silent witnesses were the springs in the ashes... We preferred to see the weather in front of the hut without getting wet any more 😃. It should stay that way for the rest of the day. It got better and better and the fog and the low clouds moved away. The half-time break at the Black Moor was culinary right, really good (unfortunately they didn't tell us where the cake is from😢). A round through the moor (without a tower, because it is scaffolded) and further down in the direction of Rüdenschwanden, via the Gangolf chapel, which we were allowed to enter briefly, back to Fladungen. A beautiful tour with very beautiful paths! 🤩, a beautiful day and thank you, ML, that we ran it together! 😊
Today's tour starts directly at the apartment, we really like that kind of thing 👍🏼 Today we collect an M and do the extra museum tour. Ms. Komoot is a bit confused 🤯 because we don't want to start at the start 🏁 and so it takes a while until we hit the M. The view back to Oberfladenen and Fladungen is initially obscured by the morning mist 🌫️. Then we go into the forest. We follow a wonderful forest path, very, very steep 🥵We take a short break at the rustic refuge to take a breather and dry our T-shirts. Shortly afterwards, a wonderful place awaits us, with a view of our hometown with a truly magnificent view 👀The path over the plateau is fantastically beautiful. Shortly behind Frankenheim we find a great place for snacks, sunny but the fresh wind has to stay in front of the hut, heart what more do you need. ♥️ We look down on Fladungen and are rather surprised that we have climbed so far 😳 On the Grabenberg we visit the evidence of contemporary history, the former border, fence, watchtower, to this day you can clearly see where the border was. Always an oppressive feeling... Shortly afterwards we reach the packed parking lot 🅿️ from the Black Moor, quickly get away 🚶🏻♀️🚶🏼💨, there are crowds of people here. We descend on great paths with beautiful views and through a sea of sunflowers. Just when we think we're about to finish, we head steeply up again ⬆️to the St Gangolf chapel, an extremely worthwhile detour 👌 On the way we meet another pair of hikers who we had already seen today, also on the extra tour. We chat for a while and realize they are from Groß Ostheim, the hiking world 🌍 is a village! We quickly look past the Rhön Bähnle 🚂, find the Rhön farmers market and realize that the Adler resident there is not a food destination for us 🤷🏻♀️ It was a great round, another extra tour that lives up to its name 👌 As a reward there is an ice cream 🍦 in the fun Krone ice cream parlor 👑 and then an ice-cold Rhöner Bionade by the rushing stream in the great apartment garden. Life is good 👍
