The burial mounds probably date from the Bronze or Early Iron Age (Hallstadt period), i.e. somewhere between 1600 and 400 BC. The tomb was probably cleared out around 100 years ago. Unfortunately, nothing is known about the content.

“The Wald-Brand-Wanderweg is characterized by a varied landscape. Forest and meadow paths that are easy to walk on, small parceled fields, beautiful forest fringes and the idyllic Klingenbach valley can be found along the way. A panoramic view can be found on the "Binsrain" at 420 m above sea level." (From: Tour guide "Der Brennerweg")

The extra tour forest fire near Schwärzelbach teaches hikers how fine spirits are made and offers beautiful views in several places. In the Vorderrhön near Hammelburg I hike through forest and fields and enjoy the beautiful day. If you don't want to go so high, this is the right place and you can hike the smaller hills of the Rhön. …

Rather easy extra tour on well paved paths through the Franconian-Rhöner border area. Display boards along the way provide information about the process of distilling schnapps. There are some seating options for breaks. One or the other view completes the forest tour.

In a forum about the Rhöner Extratouren I had read that this route was supposed to be totally boring. After this tour I can only say that he really isn't. Maybe some people should just go through the world with open eyes.

On the Wald-Brand extra tour, I would have liked to see more climbs than forest paths. Nevertheless, there are impressive views over the Vorderrhön and a lot of cultural history about distilling and burning.
