Great fun for the little ones, because the name says it all: Guck- und Putschelweg is Rhöner Platt and means something like "look and play with water".
With a wonderful panoramic view of the Rhön, we experience the element of water in a completely new way on the "Discovery Bridge"…

A beautiful little hike in the Rhön.👌🦋🐞🐝📷🔝 This trail leads you from the Kohlbachtal valley over a natural stream island to the water playground in Zitter. Here, you can really play and splash around.😂 Through typical Rhön beech forests, orchards, and limestone meadows, you reach, among other places, the inviting breakfast beech place. From the many vantage points, it's a pleasure to let your gaze wander over the Kohlbachtal valley into the far distances of the Rhön. But the descent also has its charm, with its photo wall, the view of the Kranlucken half-timbered ensemble, and the baroque church.
The following Touringen stamp offices are located on this route: 0.9km - 291 photo wall 2.0km - 290 Quiet village of gnomes 4.5 km - 289 Kohlbach playground
With a wonderful panoramic view of the Rhön, we experience the element of water in a whole new way on the "Guck- und Putschelweg" on the Kohlbach in Kranlucken. Here you can relax, play and "putch"! We walk along natural, winding paths through characteristic Rhön beech forests and along species-rich orchards and limestone meadows. Kranlucken is very typical of the Rhön with its baroque church and half-timbered ensemble. More interesting for children are the playground, which also has access to water thanks to "Experience Kohlbach", and the listening station in the information bus stop. Things get really exciting at the stations on the Kohlbachtal legend trail. They tell - also in Braille - the three legends "The Shepherd and the Wolf", "Fireman" and "Witch of Kranlucken". Before Zitters there is a beautiful forest cross path. If you walk another two minutes, you will reach a beautiful Chapel of the Virgin Mary. Fancy a break? There are rest huts and seating areas along the entire route, some with awnings and loungers. Sights along the route include: • Water playground in Zitters • Climbing rope with access to the observation tower • Climbing playground • Peephole • Photo wall • and the numerous trolls that show you the way. The "Guck- und Putschelweg" family hiking trail has been awarded a quality hiking trail in the "family fun" category. This trail was funded by the European Union and the Free State of Thuringia with ERDF funds.
It was a long drive for a 5 km hike. But every kilometer was absolutely worth it 👍. The Guck- und Putschelweg has everything that makes a great Rhön hiking trail. The weather also contributed to giving us a great tour. If you want to treat your children or grandchildren to a little adventure tour, this is the place for you. Various play options will ensure that the kids don't get bored. For us, it was also a path with a high density of touring stamps 😉👍.
Today eeeee finally after 5 weeks with the Rhönbunny 🐰 met and went for a hike 🥰... Didn't really become many km. Had a lot more to do with chatting and gossip. A lot has happened in such a long time🤭.... Thank you for the nice morning ☀️
The Guck- und Putschelweg is a family hiking trail with several stations for children. The trail is also very nice for a woman with a dog, at least on a Thursday evening (we were alone), and the stamps have to be collected 😁 On this loop, there are stamp stations 289, 290, and 291. I haven't figured out what "Putschel" means, but they must be the cool gnomes sitting around everywhere 🙂
The first stamp is a little hard to find; it's on a chair at the first house on the right when you come out of the forest path. To the nice family who met us on the way: just go back the way you came and look at the first house on the right in the yard; it's right in front of the window on a small white chair. 😊
It's often difficult to get children excited about hiking. The "Guck- und Putschelweg," on the other hand, is ideal for a family hike. It offers many opportunities to rest, but also has numerous (water) playgrounds, especially for younger hikers. There are also plenty of gnomes to discover.
